Peak Mind Interactive developed Pushups for the Mind.mil in collaboration with the US Department of Defense.
Pushups for the Mind.mil is a mindfulness app developed specifically for military personnel. The App is grounded in extensive published research with high-demand groups, including US Military cohorts from multiple services. This app aims to enhance attention and working memory, serving as a proactive tool for holistic fitness and performance optimization. The App fills a gap left by existing mindfulness training programs that are both too resource-intensive and not contextualized for the military.
The App is available for free to members of the US Military (active-duty, reserves, and National Guard) using their .mil address. In addition, members of the following military education institutions can access the App with their .edu addresses: US Military Academy West Point, US Naval Academy, US Air Force Academy, US Army War College, US Naval War College and National Defense University.
Whether you’re learning, leading, training, or preparing for a high-stakes challenge, attention is mission-critical. Pushups for the Mind is your training tool for attention.

An evidence-backed approach
Dr. Amishi Jha’s Research
Dr. Amishi Jha conducted the first-ever study on mindfulness training for active-duty military personnel, setting the foundation for cutting-edge attention training in high-stakes environments. Her research with Special Operations Forces, first responders, and other elite professionals has shaped the science-backed solutions offered by Peak Mind Interactive.
Dr. Jha’s research aims to understand: 1) How attention and working memory exert their influence in the human brain, 2) Why these functions sometimes fail when we need them most, and 3) How to train them to work better. She employs a variety of cognitive neuroscience techniques including functional MRI, event-related potentials/EEG, behavioral and self-reported/phenomenological metrics, and cognitive training approaches involving mindfulness training. With grants from the Department of Defense and several private foundations, her research investigates the neural bases of attention and the effects of mindfulness-based training programs on cognition, emotion, resilience, and performance.
